人に魅せるを信条とする書道家

1992年、埼玉県出身。
高校入学と共に書道部に入部。高校２年時に『埼玉県高校書道展』にて奨励賞を受賞し、全国大会への出場を果たす。桐の板に揮毫する姿が「木簡の少年」として注目を集め、全国紙やテレビなどメディアにも取り上げられる。

『全国高等学校総合文化祭』においては、文化連盟賞を受賞する。高校３年時には、二本の筆を束ねて書する「合筆」を我流で習得する。高校卒業後は、大学への進学を為すと共に高校時代の顧問の下、弟子となり、『創玄展』で二科賞を受賞し、更には三大書道展の一つである『毎日書道展』においても入選を果たす。

その後、独自に書道を極めるために全国を旅しながら展覧会の応募を重ね、数々の入選を果たし、また各地で個展も開き、「魅入りの書道家」として活動する。大学卒業後は、新たな書道の可能性と表現を探るために表装屋に勤務し、研究と試作に明け暮れ、画期的な技法を用い多くの作品を発表する。

近年では、墨を弾くとされる金の紙に独自開発をした墨を用いて揮毫する技法を生み出し、その結果、それらの作品が海外から高い評価を受け、2017年には『韓日書藝名家展』に出品し、感謝状を受ける。また、国際文字文化検定からは、平成を代表する人物にしか
出品が許されない『平成の書2020人展・万葉の書』に選出され、画家の大藤雅幸氏や写真家の坂本貴光氏の推薦を受け、パリやロンドン、ニューヨークなどの海外展にも出展を果たす。
以降「平成を代表する書道家」として、また「国際的書道家」として活動を続ける。現在は、書道家としての更なる修行を続ける傍ら、各界著名人との
交流も深め、ライブパフォーマンスなども行っている。

Roukyu Murano
A legendary Japanese calligrapher who captivate people.

Born in Saitama Prefecture in central Japan in 1992.
When he was in high school, he joined the calligraphy club. When he was a sophomore in high school, he won an encouragement prize at the “Saitama High School Calligraphy Exhibition” and participated in the national competition. He attracted the attention of the media, including national newspapers and television.

He was awarded the Federation of Cultural Associations Prize at the National High School Cultural Festival. In his senior year of high school, he learned to write in his own way, “Gohenshitsu”, which is the art of writing with two strokes bunched together. After graduating from high school, he went on to university and won the Nika prize at the Sougen exhibition. His work was selected for the Mainichi Calligraphic Exhibition, one of the three major calligraphy exhibitions, from among some 30,000 applicants.

He then traveled around the country to master calligraphy on his own. As a result, he submitted a number of exhibitions and received numerous selections. He also held solo exhibitions all over the country, and his works fascinated people all over the country. After graduating from college, he worked in a bookbinding shop to explore new calligraphy possibilities and expressions. He spent his days researching and prototyping his calligraphy and produced many works using innovative techniques.

In recent years he has received international acclaim for his work. He has created a technique for writing calligraphy on gold paper with his own ink, which flips the ink, and in 2017, he participated in the “Korea-Japan Calligraphic Masters Exhibition” and received a letter of appreciation. He was also selected by the International Assessment of Literary Culture to participate in the “Calligraphy 2020 People’s Exhibition of Heisei Era”, in which only people representing the Heisei Era are allowed to exhibit their calligraphy, and he has been recommended by painter Masayuki Daito and photographer Takamitsu Sakamoto, and has exhibited in overseas exhibitions in Paris, London and New York.
Since then, he has been active as “one of the leading calligraphers of the Heisei era” and “an international calligrapher”. Currently, he is continuing his training as a calligrapher and working with celebrities in various fields.
He has deepened exchanges with his fellow artists and has performed live performances.
